Does Laka cover stolen saddles, batteries or wheels?
Yes we do. The Collective covers the theft of components as long as those components are part of your Bicycle or specifically listed as Accessories on your insurance schedule. We understand that losing parts of your ride is just as frustrating as losing the whole bicycle, so we ensure The Collective has you covered. For a claim to be valid, the theft of the components must have been committed by a third party.
What are the security requirements for bike part coverage?
To keep things fair for everyone in The Collective, we ask that you take reasonable care to protect your gear. Coverage for components depends on the following conditions:
Locked and Secure: If your parts are stolen while the bicycle is unattended away from home, the bicycle must have been locked correctly.
Do Not Abandon Gear: The Collective cannot cover components if the bicycle has been abandoned.
Report the Theft: As with any theft, you must report the incident to the police and obtain a crime reference number to validate the claim for the stolen parts.
