Does Laka cover theft by force or mugging?
Yes. The Collective is here to look after you when the worst happens. Laka defines theft as the unauthorised taking of your insured gear by a third party with the intention of permanently depriving you of it. This definition explicitly includes theft occurring through force or mugging.
To ensure The Collective handles every claim fairly, there are specific steps you should take if a bike is stolen by force.
What should I do if my bike is stolen by force?
If you are the victim of a mugging or theft by force, please follow these steps:
Report the incident: Contact the police as soon as you are safe and able to do so.
Secure a Crime Reference Number (CRN): You will need to provide this number when submitting a claim to the Collective.
Tell the Collective what happened: Once you have the police report details, log in to your Laka account and head to your gear list to start the claim.
