Does Laka cover apply if I am not a permanent UK resident?

Updated this week

Does Laka cover apply if I am not a permanent UK resident?

To keep things fair for the Collective and to ensure we can provide the best possible service, Laka has specific residency requirements for all policyholders.

Am I eligible for Laka insurance if I live outside the UK?

No. You must be a permanent resident of the United Kingdom to be eligible for cover. This is a mandatory condition for all Laka policies. To qualify, your registered "Home" address - the place where your gear is usually stored when you aren't out riding, must be located in:

  • The United Kingdom

  • The Channel Islands

  • The Isle of Man

Can I use my Laka insurance while travelling abroad?

We know the Collective loves an adventure! While you must live in the UK permanently, your Laka policy supports your travels. If you add the Race and Travel add-on you are covered for worldwide travel for up to 120 consecutive days. This means you can take your bike abroad for holidays or events, provided your permanent home base remains in the UK.

What should I do if I am moving house within the UK?

If you are moving to a new home within the UK, simply log in to your Laka account and update your address in your profile. Keeping your address current ensures your bicycle insurance remains active and your gear is protected at your new location.
