Photos of your Gear and Proof of Ownership

How to upload

You can upload photos of your bike at https://app.laka.co/gb/gear. We accept photos as proof of ownership, but may ask for receipts and proof of purchase at our discretion during a claim, so it's best to provide this beforehand.

What to upload

  • Bicycle photos

    • Show the full bicycle, including the frame and drivetrain (gears + chain).

    • Take close-up photos of any upgrades you’ve made.

    • If your bike is stolen and was required to be locked to be covered, we'll need to see evidence that you owned a gold standard lock. If you don’t insure your lock as an accessory, you can still include a photo of it alongside your bicycle photos.

  • Accessories and clothing photos (e.g. locks, GPS)

    • If you insure locks, lights, GPS etc. and clothing separately, please upload photos to these areas. One photo containing all your accessories may be sufficient, provided brands/models can be clearly identified.

Photo requirements

  • The pictures should clearly show:

    • The make and model of the bicycle.

    • The condition of the bicycle and accessories at the time you added them to your policy.

    • We prefer photos taken on an original device, no screenshots of photos or photos passed through WhatsApp etc.

Proof of purchase

  • Providing receipts or invoices is the best way to demonstrate the amount you spent on your bike and accessories.

  • If proof of purchase isn’t available, please contact our support team for guidance.

  • At the point of a claim, we may ask for further evidence (e.g. a receipt) at our discretion.

What if I'm not the registered owner of my bike?

Riding a bike that's hired/ on loan, purchased on a Cycle to Work scheme or bought by a friend or family member? No problem!

  • We may still need to see the original proof of purchase, even if it's not in your name.

  • For hire bikes and bikes on loan (such as from a sponsor if you're racing for a club or team), you should also upload a copy of the loan agreement.

  • For C2W, please provide a copy of your C2W voucher, showing your employer's name, along with the actual shop invoice for your gear.
